Mountain Ash Chapter was founded in 2021. We are a community which embraces published writers, pre-published writers, aspiring writers, private writers, writers who don’t feel like writers and seldom-writing writers who love to read what writers write. We are inclusive, supportive and uphold writing talent wherever and however it emerges.
The Dandenong Ranges has a long history of inspiring and housing the creative and cultural arts. We live, work and write in the calm green spaces of the foothills and breathtaking rainforests on the mountain, and respect the proud heritage of the Wurundjeri lands which are truly unique in the world.
Like the towering mountain ash native to the Dandenongs, words have the power to lift us to immense heights, to stand through centuries, to bloom on the wind, and to destroy. Writing is not the work of the faint-hearted. Mountain Ash Chapter will continue to support brilliant writing and writers, wherever their journey may take them.
