Her exquisite feet skimmed the floor, like ephemeral swallows of passion. She paused in front of the gauzy, billowing curtains in the breast-heaving moonlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man followed. His glistening moonlit pectoral muscles glistened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He swept her into his moonlit chest. He groaned in triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo!\u201d she protested. She was a tumult of unnameable emotions. She was angry, trepidatious, excited, breathless, and hesitant.

\u201cWhy not?\u201d he rumbled, deep within his glistening chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause the best-selling children\u2019s fantasy author is coming tomorrow! She\u2019s won the Aurealis Award, the NSW Premier’s Literary Award, the Tasmanian Literary Award, the Davitt Award and the Russell Prize and she\u2019s going to share all of her experience and insight with us! It\u2019s a really big deal!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He growled in dismay. \u201cWhat\u2019s an author?\u201d he grumbled handsomely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s all happening tomorrow, just for the Mountain Ash Chapter, at the Belgrave Library between 10am and noon!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pulled her long, silvery hair back, baring her ephemeral throat. \u201cSo just remind people to get their tickets and come along,\u201d he murmured, driven mad by the glistening heat of her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t do that!\u201d she wailed. \u201cI can\u2019t just plop down a hyperlink like https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com.au\/e\/the-mac-writing-space-belgrave-library-tickets-653711046337<\/a> right in the middle of a story!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat story?\u201d he gnarred. The keen arch of his eyebrow more than made up for his lack of keen intelligence.

\u201cI don\u2019t think you can gnarr,\u201d she whispered breathily, her moonlighted bosom heaving again. \u201cI think that\u2019s too archaic to flow naturally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
