I see them every morning when I put on eye make up

Have you heard of bed hair?
I think it\u2019s the equivalent
Hair does funny things past fifty
Sometimes it disappears
Or develops
A penchant for the colour grey
But sometimes it lets loose
Guys like you would know
Ears and noses – nowhere off limits
Like it realises it\u2019s running out of time to grow<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dad I\u2019ve developed your eyebrows
But it\u2019s not all bad
It gives me an opportunity to remember you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You hung on as long as you could
We knew you couldn\u2019t stay forever
And you had such a head start on life
By the time I came along
I find comfort and joy in the echoes of your life
That smile
That laugh
Hands on hips
A jaunty little dance
To one of your favourite songs
Maybe Dean Martin?
These things bring a smile to my face
Now so it seems will my new eyebrows
But today\u2019s my day off so I don\u2019t care – no mirrors for me
And anyway
Tomorrow is ten years since you left us
A date I could never forget
